National para archer, Nur Jannaton Abdul Jalil has a habit of pulling rubber band the night before the competition day.
Nur Jannaton said its a habit that she often does before sleeping as a hand stretching technique for her besides calming the feeling before releasing the arrow in the field.
“Besides listening to songs, I will also pull the rubber band many times before going to bed while imagining what I should do on the day of the competition.
“The National Sports Institute also teaches proper breathing techniques and self-thought to get rid of nervousness. Most importantly, I will focus on myself and not think too much about my opponent so as not to be distracted by what they will do” she said when met recently.
At the same time, she also ignores ssocial media sites when competing in any sports tournament or event to avoid being distracted from any negative comments by netizens.
If the situation requires it, Nur Jannaton only uses social media to receive messages that can give her motivation to help her perform better.
