KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia have won a gold medal in the women’s team recurve event in the SEA Games, ending a 12-year drought in the archery competition.
The trio of Nur Aliya Ghapar, Nuramalia Haneesha Mazlan and Nur Afisa Abdul Halil beat defending champions Indonesia 5-1 in the final at the National Archery Range in Bukit Jalil on Monday.

Malaysia have only won the women’s recurve team gold once in the SEA Games, through S. Anbarasi, Mon Redee Sut Txi, Siti Sholeha Mohd Yusof and Fairuz Hanisah Che Ibrahim during the 2005 Manila games. – The Star
